Mining Dominates Top 10 Highest Paid Bachelor Degrees for 2011

Engineers are in high demand as the mining and resources industry booms. With more jobs than there are candidates, mining professionals and graduates can expect to be well compensated. Graduates are in high demand with companies waiting to train, pay and export them across the globe with little to no experience.
As seen in Australia, graduates can expect to start at A$105000 with a raise to A$110,000 to 130,000 within a year as Andy Wetherelt, programme director for the B.Eng mining programme at the Camborne School of Mines (CSM) in Cornwall told Reuters.
Furthermore, according to statistics recently released by the National Association of Colleges and Employers, Mining Engineers dominate 8 of the 10 top-Paid Bachelor Degrees.
Scarcity of graduates with advanced degrees in engineering and science as mining and industrial sectors continue to grow has led to stiff competition among companies for top engineering talent. The competition has driven higher wages for engineers across the board including petroleum, chemical, mining and mineral engineering degrees.
